How to Delete Snapchat My AI Chat History (iPhone and Android)

My AI is the chatbot that sits at the top of the Chat screen in Snapchat. It feels like texting a friend, so it's easy to forget it's an AI. Snapchat keeps what you share with My AI until you delete it, and uses it to improve and personalize My AI. Here's how to clean it up, on your own phone or with a teen.
Delete everything you've shared with My AI
On iPhone:
- Tap your Profile icon (top left), then the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll down to Privacy Controls.
- Tap Clear Data (some versions say Delete Data).
- Tap Clear My AI Data (or Delete My AI Data) and confirm.
On Android:
- Tap your Profile icon, then the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll down to Account Actions.
- Tap Clear My AI Data (or Delete My AI Data) and confirm.
The chat clears from your phone right away, but Snapchat says it can take up to 30 days to delete My AI data from its servers.
Delete one message (last 24 hours only)
Messages with My AI show in Chat for 24 hours. Inside that window you can remove a single one:
- Open your Chat with My AI.
- Press and hold the message.
- Tap Delete, then Delete again to confirm.
After 24 hours the message disappears from your screen, but it is still saved by Snapchat. Use Clear My AI Data above to remove older content.
What clearing does not touch
- Group chats. If you added My AI to a group chat, it can read messages there. Clear My AI Data only clears your one-to-one chat with My AI. Group chat messages have to be deleted in the group.
- Team Snapchat. Chats with Team Snapchat are stored separately. To clear those, go to Settings → Privacy Controls → Clear Data → Clear Conversations, then tap Team Snapchat and confirm.
- Everything else in Snapchat. Search history, Lenses and other data have their own options on the same Clear Data screen.
Remove My AI from your Chat feed
Don't want My AI pinned at the top? You can unpin it or clear it from the feed:
- From the Camera screen, swipe right to open Chat.
- Press and hold My AI.
- Tap Chat and Notification Settings.
- Tap Unpin Conversation, or Clear from Chat Feed and confirm.
Clearing it from the feed only hides the conversation. It does not delete what you shared, so clear your My AI data first.
For parents
If your teen uses Snapchat, sit down together and walk through Clear My AI Data. Remind them My AI is a computer program, not a friend, and that it saves what they type. Deleting is not a time machine
